Cassie and Bryan’s Wedding at The American Homestead

Posted in Locations, Weddings on March 7, 2009 by neilbartowphotography

Last October, Cassie and Bryan were married at the American Homestead, near Naches. This was a memorable wedding, both because Cassie and Bryan are a fabulous couple to work with and we enjoy being out at the American Homestead for weddings. The hills and the huge grass field are beautiful and the charming buildings have a lot of space for the family and wedding guests to enjoy.  In this case, the extra indoor space was a plus as the rain in the morning forced the entire ceremony indoors – without a hitch.

This wedding was especially unique due to Cassie’s choice of a gorgeous red dress and the creative use of peacock feathers, hops, and succulant plants in the decor.

Jenny and Christian’s Wedding

Posted in Locations, Weddings on February 8, 2009 by neilbartowphotography

Jenny and Christian married on a cold, icy Saturday a few weeks ago.  After a beautiful ceremony at the Holy Family Catholic Church, friends and family gathered at the Yakima Country Club for the reception.  One can see the subtlely gorgeous dusting of hoar frost that served as a wonderful backdrop for some of the formals. This wedding was particularly special to me as Jenny’s dad is also my eye doctor. Eye doctors are beloved by photographers for obvious reasons and are unceremoniously accorded the distinction of ” Wizard of the First Order”. Christian and Jenny are  a lovely couple, who , along with their families, were a pleasure to work with.  Below are some of the images from their celebration.

Samantha’s Senior Photos

Posted in Locations, Senior Portraits on September 4, 2008 by neilbartowphotography

It is that time of year again, the weather is beginning to be crisp, the birds are gathering to fly South, and Seniors are having their photos taken.  I went out to the Ahtanum Mission for these wonderful photos of Samantha, better known as Sam. Below are several of my favorites.

Madalain and Marvin’s Wedding

Posted in Locations, Weddings on July 13, 2008 by neilbartowphotography

Madalain and Marvin attended college in Eastern Washington, so are familiar with the rolling hills and the sunshine. When Madalain’s sister visited the Silverlake Winery  in Zillah, they decided that was the perfect place to celebrate their marriage. They brought all their family and friends to the Yakima Valley for their wedding. We are very glad they did.

Here are some of the photos from their wedding day:

The wedding party was able to watch as Marvin saw his bride for the first time that day.

Kim and Ryan’s Wedding

Posted in Locations, Weddings on November 25, 2007 by neilbartowphotography

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and has travelled safely.  The cold weather has me thinking about summer weddings when it is so much more comfortable outdoors.  I’d like to highlight Kim and Ryan’s wedding from August, when the weather was definately warmer.  They were married at the Cascade Gardens, which is a lovely secluded oasis not too far outside of Yakima. Below are a few favorite photos from their wedding, starting with a “detail shot” of a jacket “off” because of the heat:

I love the drama of this photo in black and white of Kim walking from the house beautifully illuminated by the sun…

…and Kim was glowing!

Because Kim’s flowers are dark colors, they work well for a duo-tone effect.

You can see the real affection in the way they look at each other.

Thanks Kim and Ryan for letting us be part of your wedding day. I hope your holidays are as special.  – Neil

Heather and Patrick

October is my favorite month of the year.  The weather is perfect for being outdoors and we enjoy getting out to explore areas such as Chinook Pass.  The month of May also can have pretty nice weather as well.  Heather and Patrick chose a beautiful location for their wedding this past May, at Whistlin’ Jack Lodge.  The setting for the ceremony was perfect, under the pine trees, next to the Naches river.

The beauty of the day matched their joy in each other.  By the end of the day, JoAnn and I felt like part of their family of friends, they were so warm and welcoming.

Wendy and Brad at The American Homestead

Posted in Locations, Weddings on October 7, 2007 by neilbartowphotography

wendy-and-brad.jpgwendy-and-brad.jpgwendy-and-brad.jpg       Wendy and Brad were married at the American Homestead September 1, 2007.  They were a fun couple to work with.  There was lots and lots of laughter and you could feel the emotion during the ceremony.  Brad recently bought a new Harley which we managed to include in some of the photos adding to the fun.

Another reason this wedding was special was being out at The American Homestead.  Don and Kathy have done a wonderful job creating a comfortable, relaxed environment for weddings etc.  along the Naches River with sunlit hills in the background.  Wendy and Brad’s wedding was centered around the large barn which housed the reception and is in the background below.

Below are a few more of the images from their wedding:
